SUMMARY:A STEM Fair for J.H.S in Ghana 1st To 4th July 2025
DESCRIPTION:Science In Tents is dedicated to exposing Junior High School students in under-resourced schools to diverse STEM subjects through hands-on experiments and insightful discussions\, with the aspiration of igniting their passion for STEM careers (https://visafric.org). The event features interactive experiments spanning robotics\, microbiology\, cell biology\, chemistry\, and mathematics. \n  \nScience in Tents has run for two years in 2023\, and 2024. We we successfully engaged more than 600 students and 60 teachers from under-resourced schools in Accra over a span of 4 days each year (See previous event here: https://youtu.be/XE764WWHFoY\, vis agric.org). This year\, our goal is to reach over 600 students and at least 100 teachers. The event which is scheduled for 24th to 27th June 2025 will host numerous exhibitors and mentors\, both locally and internationally. \n  \nOur mission is to acquaint school children with various STEM disciplines and demonstrate their real-world applications. We aim to showcase how the practical application of STEM can address community and national challenges in Ghana. Additionally\, we seek to provide mentorship opportunities that empower students to pursue STEM courses at the senior high school and tertiary levels of education.

DESCRIPTION:Science in Tent 2024 is a unique STEM fair designed specifically for Junior High School students. \nThis exciting event brings together young and curious minds to explore the wonders of biology\,chemistry\, engineering\, robotics and mathematics (STEM). \nOn 16th – 19th July 2024\, at Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research – Legon\, exhibitors will gather to showcase their projects and discoveries in robotics\, chemistry\, biology\, engineering\, and mathematics. At the Science in Tent fair 2024\, students will have the opportunity to:\n– Participate in hands-on workshops and activities led by the exhibitors\n– Engage with interactive exhibits and demonstrations highlighting cutting-edge technologies and innovations\n– Network with like-minded students and mentors\, fostering a community of young STEM enthusiasts \nVISA  is committed to supporting STEM education and inspiring the next generation of leaders in science and technology. DESCRIPTION:Science inTent aims to expose underprivileged J.H.S children to various STEM disciplines through practical experiments and discussions\, with the hope of inspiring them to pursue careers in STEM. The event will showcase hands-on experiments across various STEM disciplines\, including robotics\, microbiology\, cell biology\, chemistry\, and mathematics. \nOur partners and exhibitors include the Velthuis Lab from Princeton University\, USA\, MakersPlace (Robotics) from Ghana\, the Laboratory of Applied Evolutionary Biology from the University of Amsterdam Medical Centre\, the Institute of Cell Biology from the University of Edinburgh\, Femafricamaths from Ghana\, the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) from the University of Ghana\, and the School of Engineering Sciences from the University of Ghana. \nOur primary goal is to foster students’ interest in STEM fields and encourage them to pursue STEM careers.
